Problema di indirizzamento parallela

Ciao,
la mia cnc composta da una parallela on board e una pci funzionava correttamente con emc2 ver 2.3.0 ma da quando ho aggiornato solo emc2 alla 2.5.1 mantenendo sempre ubuntu 8.04 la seconda porta parallela non viene vista.
Ho aggiornato il file ''/etc/modprobe.d/linuxcnc.conf' ma continua a presentare questo errore:

Ho anche provato a ricaricare la versione 2.3.0 e con gli stessi file di configurazione funziona tutto..
Secondo voi cosa posso ancora guardare???

All'epoca la presentazione non era obbligatoria ma era affidata al buon senso, all'educazione e alla convivenza civile dei nuovi iscritti. Purtroppo i cimiteri sono pieni di persone che si erano affidate e si affidano al buon senso degli altri. :mrgreen:

Ciao,

domanda: aggiorni dalla versione 2.3.0 alla versione 2.5.1 perche' hanno introdotto una funzionalita' che ti interssa o solo per avere l'ultima versione? Nel secondo caso personalmente rimarrei sulla versione 2.3.0 lasciando tutto cosi' come e'. L'importante e' che la macchina funzioni bene.

Nel caso tu volessi aggiornare, dopo aver installato la nuova release, esegui il latency test, non tanto per verfiicare la bonta' del computer, quanto per controllare che il real time funzioni (anche se sembrerebbe funzionare).

Se il real time funziona, apri un terminale (CTRL+ALT+T) e esegui un comando

lspci -v
Nel listato di risposta che ti comparira' nel terminale, cerca una voce simile a "parallel adapter". Dovresti trovarne due. Una relativa alla porta sulla scheda madre e una relativa alla scheda su bus PCI. Verifica che gli indirizzi esadecimali siano rimasti uguali a quelli che hai attualmente nel tuo file di configurazione.

Questa seconda prova e' per capire il messaggio di errore:

Grazie a tutti per la disponibilità ...
Ammetto che la versione che usavo all'epoca se non sbaglio era la 2.3.6 e andava benissimo e poi ho avuto la brillante idea di passare a ubuntu 10.04 e cambiandomi la versione di ecm non funzionava più nulla, adesso sono tornato alla versione 2.3.0 che è la nativa dell'imagine di ubuntu 8.04..
Mi piacerebbe passare alle versioni più aggiornate soltanto per ubuntu 10.04 cosi potrei utilizzarlo anche per un'altra applicazione.

Il latency test l'ho fatto e il valore massimo si aggira intorno a 12000 quindi il real time funziona correttamente.

Soltanto ora mi sono accorto ( e me ne vergogno ) che l'errore non è porta parallela esterna ma è quella on board ,
ho eseguito lspci -v con i seguenti risultati:

Ciao Andrea,

da quanto leggo la porta della scheda madre non viene vista/riconosciuta.

Verfica se con il comando

sudo lspci -v
cambia qualche cosa (ti chiedera' la password di amministratore).

Verifica anche che la porta non sia disabilitata dal BIOS.

Se non riconosce la porta (per quanto sia strano) non saprei come altro aiutarti se non consigliandoti di rimanere sulla vecchia versione che funzionava.

la cosa è molto strana perchè ho provato a ricolleare l'hd dove ho installato la versione 2.3.0 e per assurdo non vedo la porta neanche li...
Domani ti posto l'output della versione 2.3.0 per farti vedere...
Mi stò comunque attivando per procurarmi un'altra main board per poter fare altre prove...

Ancora grazie e se non ci sentiamo più auguri di buon natale a tutto il forum...

guarda nel bios sotto la voce parallel port che non sia disabilitata oppure settata su normal..
mettila su ecp o epp oppure ecp + epp fai delle prove.
sono sicuro che su normal non va

Ciao Mauro,
ho rimesso l'hd dove emc funziona e ho provato a cambiare le impostazioni della parallela ma nulla da fare, non si riesce a vedere...
Ho provato l'altra main che avevo ma purtroppo non parte il real time quindi ho deciso di rimanere alla versione 2.3.0 cosi sono sicuro che funziona.
Adesso però si è presentato un'altro problema...
Quando mando in esecuzione ecm dopo un po' che gira mi visualizza il messaggio :
RTAPI:Error unexpected realtime delay on task 1.

Ho mandato in esecuzione il latency test e ho segnato i valori di latenza :
13000 il servo thread
18000 il base thread

A occhio direi che la parallela sulla scheda madre non funziona più. E' una vecchia scheda ? Vedo che usa ancora il buon vecchio 8254, per i timer ...

Si è un vecchio compaq che avevo, la parallela a bordo è funzionante perchè se rimetto su l'hd con la versione 2.3.0 e lascio i valori di latenza altissimi sale senza problemi...

Ma con il comando lspci -v vedo anche gli indirizzi della parallela a bordo o vedo solo quella esterna??

Con lspci vedi solo le parallele montate su scheda pci.
Quella interna è decodificata dal bios in fase di boot (dovresti vederla, infatti, durante il boot). In alternativa usa il comando dmesg che fa un riassunto molto esaustivo di tutte le periferiche montate, tra cui la parallela.

Ah, allora forse Mauro non aveva compreso bene la mia situazione, infatti la porta parallela 0x378 è quella che ho montata sul pc e quella pci è quella che viene puntata all'indirizzo 0x10d0.
Domani proverò il comando dmesg e vi farò sapere.
